We are currently focused on building a new version of Saasu but we are releasing some tweaks and improvements along the way when we can. Some performance improvements to the Multi-month Profit and Loss, Trial Balance and Balance sheet reports are now live. We also added some capability to compare balance sheet periods.
There are many more changes in our longer-term pipeline including heirarchy in the chart of accounts, PDF emails and branding of reports.
Hi Adam,
We have only put Tags on line items in the Balance Sheet and P&L Summary report for the time being as Saasu is currently re-writing our entire report suite in line with the features and design of Saasu M2 (Saasu Mark II) currently being built.
Hi Marc,
Do tags on line items now get included in all reports? Particularly P&L?
your last comment you mentioned tagging everything ‘Job1′ and then running a P&L report. But when tagging of line items on invoices was introduced, those tags werent included in reports – only if you added a tag on the entire invoice.
Has this been included now?
Thanks a lot!
Hi Rod,
You can do both of these. Go to Reports > P&L Summary. In “compare to” choose “Budget”. You can run the report by Tag so if you are applying a tag to transaction for a job e.g. create a Tag called “Job1″. Then you can run a P&L for Job1. Just get in touch with service team if you need any extra details on doing this.
Cheers
Marc
YTD P & L is fine but would be good to be able to compare YTD not just against budget but YTD against same period last financial year as well as budget for this year
Also, what about activity based costing? i.e. being able to track expenses for each project undertaken by the company … is there a workaround for that until job tagging of some kind is introduced?
How about multi price levels? For any inventory based business this is critical and so far, nothing.
Really excited about the new interface design. I love the product, but this is going to make it so much more intuitive (hopefully) for those of us who don’t come from a traditional number-crunching background.
Also hanging out for heirarchy in the chart of accounts before making the flip from another suite.
As an importer I would really like to be able to obtain the real costs of imported goods within SAASU.
That means the ability to include all the expenses incurred from the time the exporter hands over the shipment until it arrives in my warehouse calculated on a line by line basis. Surely other importers would also require this facility.
Hi Marc,
Great update.
How about being able to view a general ledger detail of each item in the Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet
Also being able to view a comparative Trial Balance,
Kind Regards
Jonathan
Hi Scott,
We’ll modify it to allow you to remove the graph. That was an oversight at our end. We assumed wrongly that the graph is required but it isn’t always. Myself included. We did get this wrong. p.s. I’m hanging out for heirarchy also. Apart from our new user interfaces (the new Saasu design), the two features in our own application I most want are merging the bank rec with bank feeds and heirarchy in the chart of accounts so I’m with you.
Cheers
Marc
Hi Marc, its great to have the comparative balance sheet now, thank you!
As I previously suggested, we should have the ability to turn off the “analysis” part, ie the graph and the variance & % variance, since for formal compliance reporting (annual financial statements & tax returns etc) all users require is the straight comparative period numbers without any further analysis. The analysis should come as an option for management reporting purposes.
I am also looking forward to the release of current & non current assets & liabilities and hierarchy & subtotals in the chart of accounts.
Kind regards
Scott
