Designing in the open

We’ve greatly benefited over the years from the generosity of others sharing their learnings, tips, tricks, frustrations, failures and successes via blogs.

And as we’ve mentioned previously we’re currently going through a significant redesign of the Saasu user interface, as well as the overall Saasu brand.

We’re very much inspired by the principle of “designing in the open”, in the words of Mig Reyes of 37signals. This principle is also ably demonstrated by the team at Google Ventures Design Studio.

Over the coming weeks we’ll be writing a bit more about the process we’re going through, including outlining some highlights from:

  • Customer research interviews
  • Internal team interviews
  • Refinement of our brand values
  • The role of personas
  • Developing a design brief
  • Developing a branding system

Our hope is that sharing our learnings might be of value to our customers and others in our community. And we also hope that it may also provide some context for the new brand when it becomes more visible in the new year. (All of these posts will be tagged “designprocess” if you want to follow along…)

We are looking at a ‘cloud hosted’ accounting system – and SAASU appears to have this facility. I am interested to find out more about the different modules available for this system, is anyone able to provide me with further information or links.?
