Release: June 2012

Multi-factor Authentication
Have you got an extra sign-in token, secret question or password? These bank accounts are sometimes referred to as multi-factor or two-factor authentication. This means you need to provide two or more passwords to access your bank account. Saasu now supports this type of bank account in our latest release as a Public Beta feature. Be aware that there are thousands of bank accounts that use this technology and we can only test some of them so let us know if yours isn’t working yet and we’ll do our best to bring it online.

Two-factor Authentication Device

Payroll/Tax Tables update for 2012/2013 FY
[For Australia] PAYG tax changes occur again this year. Some tax scales are being phased out by the ATO and the Flood Levy ends on 30th June 2012. As always we make these changes for you and they are ready to go. Payroll transactions entered on or after 1st July in Australian files will use the new tax scales. Learn more about Tax Scale changes and the removal of the Flood Levy on the ATO’s website. Saasu’s online accounting software will automatically migrate your employees to their new Tax Scales on 1st July 2012. We ask that you kindly check you first Pays and/or Pay Run for the new year before processing payments and payslips to ensure it meets your expectations.

Modified Dashboard To Do widget
We delivered a new To Do widget in our last release and a lot of you absolutely loved it but you would prefer it didn’t just give you the next weeks worth of work but instead all the work not done plus the next weeks worth of work. So we have made a change to show you 25 overdue or outstanding activities in the widget.

Report performance enhancements
Good software engineering is also about re-engineering. We’ve made a series of changes to our report queries. You will notice some of our reports running much faster. We’re proud to have some of the best Microsoft MVP’s working on Saasu’s code base.

Continued work on Tags for Invoice Line Items
This is a major change for us and we are nearly at the point where we can release the first of the reports that use Tags on line items.

From Dual core to 12 core in our cloud infrastructure
The world of computing is changing fast. Multi-core processers have mostly been dual or quad core to date. Saasu’s Cloud Accounting platform has been running on dual core machines. We have now upgraded these to Bruce Lee style 12 core machines.

Subscription Renewal reminders
Due to popular demand Saasu will email you a reminder a week before your subscription expires and the day before. The email will be sent to all billing contacts for the subscription.

Letter and A4 sized invoices
As we internationalise Saasu we have added Letter paper size PDF’s to templates. You can also turn off the fit to page option for the PDF file which stops Saasu fitting the invoice template to the page size. This allows a finer level of control over the page layout.

Zone added
To our new customers in the Commonwealth of Dominica and the Republic of Equador. Welcome and we hope you enjoy using Saasu’s online accounting software with your very own VAT rates and currencies supported with currency feeds.

Hi Greg, We can’t give dates on feature releases sorry. We are working on new search and reporting capability but it is a long project as it is a major one for us. It will be worth the wait though. Leaping ahead of the other companies in our space.

Any idea yet when enhanced reports will be available? Specifically, balance sheet reports providing last year and this year comparative & movement and ability to have sub headers?

    Hi Mary,
To clarify I’m referring here to two-factor on our customers online banking accounts, not on Saasu itself. That said, Saasu is going to be working with mi-Token to handle two-factor access for Saasu clients.

The updated activities on the dashboard widget is now a powerful & useful tool for organising your Saasu work and importantly collaborating with others in Saasu!!

More and more solutions to help protect account access. Why not also add two-factor using the phone? I love how i can telesign in and I wanted to know if there are plans to add that option in addition to this token functionality. Might be more convenient than carrying extra stuff around…
